How do I recognize if my degu is a male or a female?
People often think they have a male, because they don't know that females has also something like penis. To recognize the sex of a degu isn't easy without experience. The main difference is the distance between parts and anus. This helps when you have two degus - if the distance is similar, they are of the same sex and if not, it's a pair. But if you have only one degu and not much experience, the distance won't help you. Here comes the second difference - males have parts connected with anus by the strip of skin which you can see if you watch closely. Females don't have this strip of skin, but have the third opening (vagina), which is noteless stroke between parts and anus.
