One of our recently born degu babies has not both eyes completely opened. What can I do to help?
Sometimes degu baby is born with one or both eyes not completely opened, mostly when there are many babies in one litter or when they are born too soon. Sometimes the eye opens after a few days without your help, but sometimes degu needs you. Then stear the eye with a piece of cotton or someting washed in warm (but not too much) water
or warm camilla tea. When the eye is wet and warm, it opens easily, so you can gently open it. The eye needn't open the first time you stear it, try it more times a day, but do not open they eye by force.
